Did 8.4 in the Mooney 20F today. First complex for me, trying to double dip my Instrument finish up and the 10 hours I need in the Mooney for club insurance. Under the hood for 7+ hours but the view of lambert looked interesting

Yep, they gave me 210 for vectors to 8R.

TacAir had a half dozen T6 Texan IIs parked there. Had lunch at Annie Gunn's and headed back north.
That's where I'm based. They have some cool stuff around there sometimes. F-18's, Texans, a few weeks ago they had 3 V-22 Ospreys sitting around.

I'll let you know next time I'm down that way. Haven't been to KSUS since 1996 (part of SIU's XC time). I'll be down there a few times a year to pick up my daughter (faster than the 2 leg STL-ORD-GRR route)

No kidding! I did my flying at SIU also,1998-2001.

7 hours under the hood.... Are you nuts?
Yeah pretty much ;)

It was more like 3.7 down, break, 2.1, 15 min fuel break and then 1.7.

More fun as it was the first time I swung gear (manual Mooney can be counted as my exercise) and played with a Prop control as well...... Not to mention first flight above 10K for me.

Still along day!
