KSKY closing

Wow really? That's pretty sad.

This post brought to you by beta from my iPhone.

Well, there goes a cool airport with some awesome approaches, and our primary cross country airport...

Wow. I was just there a few weeks ago. Guess the property has a really good value.
More like its just too expensive to keep operating it as a airport. There was a official announcement in the paper last week but it's been in the works I guess for awhile. Interesting to see what it becomes. In the past the metro parks wanted to buy it and turn it back into a wetland like they have done with all the land to the east the airport

What a bummer! PCW is much further away from Cedar Point. Always fun to fly into...
Yea but problem is most aircraft that fly into cedar point don't buy fuel when they land at griffing. There is speculation around here that cedar point wants to buy the land.

That is very true. We never did buy fuel, come to think of it, but we did pay to park and tipped appreciatively for the ride to/from The Point. I wonder of Cedar wants to expand their little oasis over there by Castaway.

TO bad.... Who wants to buy an airport?
they won't allow new owners to keep it an airport because they don't want someone buying it and competing with their business which is moving to port Clinton. They are taking all the private owners who have hangars there to port Clinton with them

That's a shame. I wonder how they could control that though. Some one could easily come in and buy it as a Private field, then turn it back into a public one.

Contract you sign when you buy the airport. Alternatively, they could just tear up the runways before they leave. Maybe call in the military and be like 'Free testing for anti-runway weapons available.'

Or just call in Daley... he'll take care of it really nicely. I hear it does a great job under the cover of darkness.
