KRDR is safe from closure list

Good news to UND that the base is not on the closure list. Can you imagine that place with no approach control? MSP centre could never handle all the local IFR there.

They lost every plane though with nothing realigned back here.

So no need for their tower, app/dep, or anything doing with an AFB.

I thought that was just temporary while they resurface their runway.

Not sure what they'll do about that, but according to the report, over 2200 of the 2800 or so active duty personnel will leave Grand Forks.

yeah, but at least in that case you have one person that is able to see those who feel they dont need to use the CTAF and let you know where they are.

even if they dont they still show up as tiny dots. If they can pick up flocks of birds on the radar (they do give us a heads up of "possible flock of birds" sometimes) I'm sure they can pick up an airplane that isn't sqwaking.

But I do knw every time I went hunting as a kid, I drove past missle whatchamucallits every few miles. And yes, that was in the minot area. They were all over
