Home on the weekends
KFMN area, been out of Aviation for about 18 months now, looking to get back into it on a possible part-time/ relief gig. Anyone here with some gouge on the local fleet of Part 91 King Airs/PC-12s/Citations based out of here that are owned by all the local oil field companies ?

I'm gonna go start knocking on doors around town soon but I'm curious if anyone has any contact info for the current pilots.

Not interested in going back to 121 ever again and there's not much around here flight instruction wise anymore... The few planes I've seen for rent are....lacking. I'll leave it at that.

FMN! Highest priced Low lead for 500 miles! There's an air ambo operator out of there, but I'm not sure who. Mayo has a posting up for a King air in DRO.

Yup, AirMethods has a PC-12, that's one serious toughnut to crack. Seems like you almost need an in there and there's rarely an opening.

Applied with Mayo but that's probably a full time gig. Might be an option, might ot.

Depends on your definition of full time. Some air ambo is a 7/7 or similar schedule. Problem you're going to have is most of it's also single pilot IFR, 135.

How's single pilot IFR gonna be a problem ? Lol
Well, it's a different environment than crew, and some 135 flight departments are going to look at the airline time as a negative. You'll just have to sell it differently. Just a heads up, that's all.

Define commute. Local or long distance

I've spent too many years sitting on the jump seat and scrambling with full loads in this day andage to want to really do that again.

I'm interviewing with a government contractor (again) but that job is worth the $ to consider moving.

I'm not in a situation where i need to fly solely for a living but in the right circumstance I wouldn't mind it.

There is a King Air 350 shared by 3 companies and a Conquest shared by a couple companies. There are also a couple light twins flying doctors around. I believe the only Pilatus is Air Methods. I have also heard of a new 135 starting and I think they are operating twin Cessna's.

Also, Mayo is still looking. Might be worth giving them a call. It is full time, but 5 on 5 off, 12 hour shifts, $57/yr. They have a real hard time finding people to stay in DRO.

Really? DRO is a sweet town. I'd look but 57 a year is a good bit less than I'm making now for the same job.
