I have heard from Key Lime Pilots that they are looking to get their 121 certificate. Im guessing it will be for supplemental operation. So not 100% sure if they will hire any dispatchers but I am thinking yes. I also presume that it will be down at Centennial Airport.

My last job operated supplemental under a 121 exemption. So if Key Lime gets a 121 cert., then yes they will have to hire licensed dispatchers.

Mission, Mesa is a joke. I am so glad Im out of there. They hired me fully well knowing they were going to furlough us a few months later. The training was horrible. The guy training us spent more time on his iphone, than he did training us. The place is run like a romper room. Just about every freaking plane was mel'd or cdl'd to death, Im honestly suprised something very serious has not happened. Im glad I got 6 months of experience, but I would never never go work there again.

For Starters, any of you that have a dispatchers certificate should remember that a 121 Supplemental does not require a licensed dispatcher. A 121 cert is not an easy thing to get. The MX and operations planning and tracking requirements are no joke, so figure a year at least. Now a days, everyone is running there fleet with tons of MEL's and CDL's. However Mese seems to be screwing up in alot of other areas too. Unless they pull some tricks out of their hat I dont think they will be able to be competitive in a few more years.

It is true that 121 Supplemental does not require licensed dispatchers, but most supplemental operations do end up hiring licensed dispatchers...I have heard it can help in getting a Supplemental application approved, if they have licensed dispatchers on staff and not just flight followers. Actually, I can't think of a single 121 Supplemental that doesn't hire licensed dispatchers although I'm sure there may be one or two out there.
