Primary Purpose:
Under general direction and in accordance with Corporate policies and procedures, approved flight manual specifications, the Federal Aviation Regulations and other governmental regulatory bodies ensure that the Corporate aircraft are operated in a safe, cost effective manner. The Captain, after consultation with all other crew members, has the final authority in the conduct of a particular flight operation.
Primary Duties:
- Initiate preflight planning and associated activities, in compliance with applicable government regulations, to include analysis of weather, aircraft performance criteria and planning for all phases of flight, both domestic and international, review of aircraft maintenance and flight readiness status.
- Delegate to other crew members any duties necessary for the safe and effective operation of the flight.
- Maintain the integrity and ensure continuity of the cockpit principles of crew coordination and resource management. Adhere to the JCI Aviation Operations Manual standard operating procedures and checklist philosophy.
- Establish appropriate security for aircraft when away from home base. Assist and coordinate with passengers any security needs they may require.
- Ensure passenger logistical needs are verified and met, including: ground transportation, overnight accommodations, catering requirements, communication links, and any geopolitical information essential for their destinations. Provide passenger assistance as required.
- Maintain a well developed operational and systems knowledge of assigned aircraft, familiarity of regional operational and airspace requirements for assigned flights throughout the world, and a thorough understanding of navigational requirements and limitations for destinations and alternates.
- Maintain international travel readiness including proper personal documentation and immunization status. Participate in first-aid and other safety training.
- Complete necessary flight documentation and reports in compliance with department procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Job Specifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent or High school completion with a minimum 2 years technical training in aviation.
- Four year degree preferred.
- Minimum FAA licensing and ratings to include Instrument rating and Multi-engine Airline Transport Pilot license.
- Minimum flight experience requirements: 6000 hours total flight time / 2000 hours multi-engine / 3000 hours turbine of which at least 1000 hours is turbo-jet.
- Appropriate Type-rating for assigned aircraft.
