Summer vacation time!

I took my family (wife and two kids) and a week's worth of luggage from Salt Lake City to John Wayne and back.

Pictures were taken from a Blackberry so they're not super high quality...Enjoy!

1) Panel at 13,000'
2) Descending into Salt Lake City on our return
3) Over Lake Mead
4) Las Vegas feeling generous - direct Mormon Mesa, direct Salt Lake
5) Las Vegas
6) A tired airplane that just carried a weeks worth of luggage, a lot of fuel, and 4 passengers

Great pics! I love the SLC/greater SLC area. I make it out there every winter for a week's worth of playing in the snow. I can honestly say, however, that I've never seen it without snow.

Nice! Looks like she's running a touch warm in the first pic..just after level off from the climb up maybe?

I don't miss working on Mooneys, that's for sure!!!

Just leveled off from a 'best rate' climb from SL to 13,000'.

All in all, it was actually pretty cool. The CHT on 5 and 6 were sitting around 380. For being turbocharged, I've never seen the CHTs on my M20K go above 400.

Perfect! Which engine monitor do you have? JPI-something?

Be happy to help where I can.

As for getting direct, ask and ye shall receive. ;)

That looks like a really fun trip. Flying out West seems so much more entertaining than the wiregrass flatlands of Alabama.

It's actually entertaining to fly with someone with no mountain or terrain experience. Boy, do I have some stories as a CFI flying with flat landers.
