Southern Air and Ryan International are looking for a dispatcher. This is an excellent way to get long haul worldwide international experience.

Also if anyone is really interested BNSF (Burlington Northern Santa Fe)is looking for a train dispatcher.

Also Jeppesen has posted a dispatch position, not sure how long it will be up as I know someone who was offered a position. But like I have mentioned before I was told they are projected to need another dozen or so through out the year

Kellogg Co is looking for a dispatcher. Of course it is Battle Creek MI. :D

Ah yes, nothing but lovely snow-free weather in MI. :)

I've never worked corporate dispatch. Does anyone here have any experience doing it? I've heard sometimes it involves crew scheduling, depending upon the company, which I wouldn't care for. I'm not looking to switch jobs or anything, just curious.

Xtra Airways - the new name for Casino Express - Looking for a dispatcher.

A quick look at their website shows they are moving operations out of Elko, NV to Boise ID.

Not sure what they pay but at least you aren't in Elko!!!!!

I'm a new member looking for a Dispatch, OPS or Crew scheduling job in the Charlotte, NC area.
I saw one posted for Flight Dept. Assistant on Career Builder, applied, but those seem to go out in Cyber Space. I would love to find out the name of the company and apply directly.

Any Help out there?

Sincerely,
Mary (Dispatch Girl)

Mary, I don't know of any Charlotte-based airlines, myself. While there may be some operator there I'm not aware of, if you really want a dispatcher (or crew scheduling) position, you need to be prepared to move. As I've said before, there are some careers where you can normally find a job in your current community and avoid moving, but dispatch is not one of those fields. Now, US Airways does have a large presence in Charlotte, so if it's really important for you to stay there, I would think that you might try applying to work at the airport and eventually work your way into operations there, that's the most "dispatch-like" position I can think of that wouldn't require moving somewhere. If anyone on this board does know of a Charlotte-based airline, feel free to correct me here!

Tradewinds out of Greensboro is an all cargo operations but I quick look at their website shows no openings.

Also saw an opeing for an outfit out of Myrtle Beach a couple of months ago. Cant find the listing but it was for C-130 and other assorted acft

Compass is a good get-up. They fly brand new E175s, and they pay more for experience. From what I hear out in the twin cities, they are looking for local people, but it never hurts to apply. They are a bit awkward when they get back to you though. I applied there a year and a half ago before they moved to Minneapolis (they used to be based in Chatilly, VA) and they called my house phone to talk to me. They did not leave a message, but I called the individual back from the number left on the caller ID, left him a voicemail, and never received another call back from them. A week and a half or so later, I received a letter saying thank you for trying, but we are going with someone else. This same thing happened to someone that I work with at my current airline last year.

IBM is looking for an aircraft dispatcher - White Plains - check there Website - posted 23 Jun

How exactly do you have prior experience for a dispatch job?

what I mean is, I've never been a dispatcher, how do I go about getting a job in that field? is it mostly on the job training or?

You have to be an FAA certificated dispatcher. I had no actual experience in dispatching prior to my current job, but I did have my dispatch license and a lot of other aviation experience. From what I've seen, there's a lot of competition for the jobs, even at the entry level in regionals, but building experience there will put you in a position for higher paying jobs at mainline carriers and flight departments when/if those become available.

Makes sense.

thanks for the info

how can people complain about Pinnacle when Mesaba pays those kind of wages? (Not to say Pinnacle is some kind of paradise or anything)

Mesaba wasnt hiring for a while I think due to all the aircraft losses they have had and also I assume less attrition due to the economy.

Is this hiring due to people jumping ship before a probable move to Memphis and consolidation with Pinnacle and Colgan?
