Wow. Yes...NYC Capt rep. PM me any details Doug. I'm sure I'll hear eventually.
I know I flew with him but, I am having a hard time placing his face. Where did he live?
Is this the same Brian McManus that used to be the Captain Rep up there?
The following information is provided by Captain Mike Pinho:
Many of you have heard of the sad passing of Delta Captain Brian "B-Mac" McManus.
B-Mac touched the lives of many from far and wide. Those of us who grew to call B-Mac “our friend” over the years know that he made our lives richer and more meaningful. Growing up in Chicago and graduating from his beloved Notre Dame, B-Mac began his flying career in the U.S. Marine Corps. From the USMC, he went on to dedicate twenty-two years as a pilot at Delta Air Lines, most recently an International 767 Captain flying from JFK. As a Delta pilot he stood out not only as a great aviator, but also as one of the best known and loved leaders of the Air Line Pilots Association. B-Mac loved flying, sports, reading, and a good laugh with his friends. But anyone who knew Brian would tell you the greatest love of his life, and his passion, was his children.
Please join us in remembering B-Mac. An incredibly talented professional pilot, a loyal friend, a leader without peer, and a devoted, dedicated dad.
Feel free to pass along this information to anyone you know whose life was touched by B-Mac.

Here's a quick B-Mac story.
We did a trip to Madrid about a year ago, spent about 80% of the trip laughing our asses off to the point that the A-line called up front to see if everything was alright a few times.
Anyway, we were all going to meet downstairs for happy hour after the standard nap before heading downtown for tapas and cocktails.
Brian really didn't nap that day, figured he'd head down to the Plaza Mayor early and he slid $100 and a note under my door which said "I might get caught up downtown, so just in case I don't make it back to the hotel, here's money to buy the first couple of rounds for whoever shows up. Don't let the new hire pull out his wallet. -Brian".
I still have that note somewhere, I'll have to scan it.
Fellow Members of Council 66,
By now most of you have probably learned of the tragic passing of Captain Brian "B-Mac" McManus. B-Mac served the pilots of Delta Air Lines tirelessly for over 20 years in a number of capacities, most notably as the past chairman of Council 66. He was a dedicated and talented leader of our pilot group. But to the many of us lucky enough to get to know him on a personal level, he was so much more than that.
B-Mac's accomplishments were many. He was a proud alumnus of The University of Notre Dame, a United Stated Marine Corps pilot, and a 22-year Delta pilot, most recently a 7ERA. But those accomplishments, impressive though they might be, are not what defined Brian, and it is not for them that he will be remembered. Instead, he will be remembered for things of which he was much more proud. He was a true leader. He was a loyal friend. And, most importantly, he was a devoted and loving father to his two wonderful children.
All of us who knew B-Mac are richer for it. We loved him, and we will truly miss him.
Below please find information regarding services to honor the life of an extraordinary man. Feel free to pass along this information to anyone you know whose life was touched by B-Mac.
