Somebody before said that at Jetblue, once you get on as a E190 First Officer, you stay there a Loooong time.

However,

Directly from the pilot hiring page on their website:


Upgrade to Captain on the A320 is estimated to be between 20 and 24 months. Upgrade on the EMB190 is estimated to be between 6 and 8 months.

That sounds credible... most junior A320 Capt. hired Dec. 2002

I had no idea the EMB190s are already being built. Doesn't Jetblue start getting them in the middle of 2005?

Embraer already has at least two flying I know of the first EMB190 flight was on March 12th with the second aircraft flew on May 9th and certification is expected in the 3rd quarter of 2005.
 
We got told the 190s will be here by the end of 05.

The upgrade time for the 190 will be short because we have 200 on order.....plus we're gonna be getting 2-3 a month,unlike the Airbus which we usually only get 1 a month.

Before aviation I was in the hospitality industry and Boston Market went bankrupt because they grew too fast........I hope Jetblue isnt falling into the same footsteps....
 
Yes they're growing fast, but I don't think their growing that fast to crumble. Their CEO is pretty good and there work force is very motivated. Besides look at the competition /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
