JetBlue Landing Gear Problems

WOW!!!!!!!!! DID YA GUYS SEE THIS?!?!!?!?!!! I'm still watching it live, but felt like being the first make a post about it... still watching it live on TV.

For those who don't know:
JetBlue flight 292 had a problem with the nose gear.. it was tilted about 90 degrees... They left burbank for JFK but are now burning fuel (dont think they can dump it) on the pacific and are probably going to land at LAX... 145 on board... this is going to be a true soft field landing
 
Just saw it on MSNBC live tv. Did they say if it just wouldn't come up after takeoff?

Yeah, I'm watching it on MSNBC rigtht now. I think they are trying to get it over to LAX. Gear wouldn't come up after take-off. It's JetBlue flight #292.
 
Didn't know that an A320 could dump fuel. Though only widebodies had that option.
And slenderbodies had to burn it off...henses what is occuring!

They are now heading to LAX for an emergency landing. I guess the gear is down and locked, but twisted 90 degrees?!?! The exact plane is N536JB. Flight from BUR-JFK

Retract my statement, goddam sim techs can't get there story correct.

Was just watching the FOX news & they said they were burning it off, I kept thinking, which J/C member is going to bust my chops.

I thought it was interesting that they had an ntsb guy being interviewed on msnbc saying that fuel couldn't be dumped on the 320, when at the same time, they had a camera on the jet, dumping its fuel!

Okay...so whats the official word? Can a A320 dump fuel or not.
I was always told that narrowbodies don't have the fuel dumping option. That only widebodies have it for trans-oceanic travel.
Also if the nose gear is twisted 90 degrees thats not going to be a safe landing at 140 knts. Soft field landing of not.

I just realized that the people can watch the news on Jetblue, so if Fox news & MSNBC are covering it, the passengers can watch it...

Any chance it would straighten its self out if they touch down softly??

I wonder what the max steering (degrees) is on the nosewheel?
 
This is great, I was just watching CNN with about 10 pilots, 3 from Hawaiian, 3 from Aloha, 2 from Airfast, 1 from Gemini, & one FAA person.

Captain Al Haynes was the CNN consultant and gave his opinion, when he was finished, the reporter said that they have another pilot to give more information. The room roared with laughter, who the hell in the world would want to follow Al Haynes!

Well Mike D. If you want, I can go back upstairs & check the backgrounds of some of the younger pilots, they may have a regional jet background.

Okay, now they're saying that they've confirmed that 320s CANNOT dump fuel, and that they're trying to simply burn fuel... what else could that liquid have been though? I specifically saw clear liquid exiting the tail cone of the aircraft.

On a serious note. I dont have any inside info yet as soon as I do you'll be the second to know
