Jepp plates & binders provided by the airline?

I'm starting at ExpressJet in January, and am curious how many Jepp binders I will need, if at all. Do the airlines provide just the plates, or the binders as well? I have an opportunity to buy some used 2" leather binders for $20 each, I just need to know how many. I figure this will save me some $ down the road.

My company provided the Jepps and the binders. Updates were a pain.

The three companies that I've been employed with provide binders. Not the uber-swank leather ones, but alternatives. I have my own leather jepp binders from years ago.

From what I understand, ExpressJet does not provide binders. They do provide the Jepps, though. From what I've heard, you're going to need 2 2" binders. I just bought mine from Jeppessen. I start class on 11/29.

We got one Jepp binder from the company, which was not enough. They will give you all the CHQ binders you want, but only one Jepp one due to cost. I got two extra CHQ binders in the same size and split my charts up. Works just fine.

Dude, I would love to here about the Ins and outs of your current job. Im sure no expense was spared to bring ya on board.
 
There are pros and cons to different places of business, some are important and others not so much. Not having Jepp binder issued sucks, But I wouldnt turn in a resignation over it, its really not that big a deal. Im sure there are things at your place of business that are similar.

I don't have a problem with buying binders, it's my choice to have Jepp leather/whatever over vinyl and I own them like the rest of my flying gear. Besides, 2 binders isn't going to break the bank.
 
Go to Office Max or Staples and buy the cheapies for $3. They work just as well, and you can add a picture to the front and back.

I've never heard of a twenty-two inch binder!! How cumbersome. Why not use a bunch of smaller 2" binders?!?
