Would anyone like to volunteer to be this years Network JC photographer? getting photos at events like the hiking, studio54, karaoke & Network JC?! The person will need to be fairly versed in photography (whether by hobbie or by work) with a digital camera since I'd like to use some of the photos for a 2005 calendar.

I'll probably take some photos myself, but i'd really rather designate someone to go around grabbing shots of the good times!!

Kristie, I will be bringing both of my cameras with me, and I would be more than happy to play with them.

If photopilot was coming, I'd defer to him, though!

Oooh, is this for that "Ladies of Jetcareers Calender" we were talking about a few months ago? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just kidding /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There you go!! There could be a "Ladies of JC" calendar, and a "Men of JC" calendar!!

Then, of course, "MTSU_AV8ER'S Calendar"....

I have a nokia 3650 Camera phone, which has pritty good resolution and id be more than happy to take pictures with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

actually, i thought about calling it "The Men & Women Addicted 2 JC, 2005 Calendar"

haha

but we could definately put something together for both men & women separately too.. depends on how good the photos turn out...

In response to Tony - Tony, you da man!! your HIRED! I was hoping to ask photopilot too since he's the guru of guru's on the board (in a photography sense), but he got a new job, moved to michigan, yada yada yada...and has promised to lend a hand next year, if he can! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

however, you realize upon taking said job that you will be put to the task of showing me the photos often so i can look at them as we go! cuz i need 12 good ones to make a good calendar and probably even more if we're going to do men's & women's calendars!

what camera(s) do you have? are they both digital? do they work off a memory stick or off of a compactflash card? if compactflash card, we're set cuz we have the equipment for that already (laptop wise)...

who knows, maybe we'll do a "strike a pose" contest!! so we can get the photos we need! hahaha

The only thing is that I don't want Tony's networking time taken up at the actual Network JC event. Are any of the wives/gf's (whose not a pilot that needs to network) photography savvy at all? if so, I'd rather use one of them to get the photos at the event, so Tony doesn't have to worry about photography AND networking!!

[/ QUOTE ] yup, we'll be doing that too Chris!! camera phones don't have the best resolution, but they can still grab some great shots!!

My Phone has pritty good resolutions. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif, oOo I wanna be centerfold for the JC calander! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

No worries, Kristie! It will be easy to take pictures and network -- I can combine the two, after all.

I will have both my little Dimage and my nearly brand new D70 (I bought it, photopilot!). One is a point and shoot, another is an SLR.

Sorry Chris but there's no centerfold since this isn't a "girlie" magazine! it's a calendar! hahaha

I'm sure everyone will play a part!

*drool, D70*. Hope you like the new cam Tony. I was looking at that camera this summer, but didn't have quite enough to cover it so i went for the Digital Rebel instead. Paid off though because I also could afford another lens for it. Let me know how you like the camera as if anything happens to mine I would have to find a replacement ;-)Too bad I'm not going to networkjc or I'd offer to help.

Tony, WOW a D70 huh??? SCHWEET!!! what type of digital cards do they take?

those will take some pretty darn nice photos!!

I got a Hitachi microdrive for it. It is supposed to be USB plug and play, so I can probably just download the pictures to your laptop. I'll bring the drivers just in case.

Emu, I saved for months before I bought this thing. I am so not being the good American by just throwing it on my credit card and paying interest on it. Well, I did throw it on my credit card, but I will pay it off when the bill comes due!

The kicker was when the guys in my office bought one for the office to use for photography at air shows. I got to play around with it and decided to go for it. Then I had to save up the money for it, and now I've got it!

Yeah, that's how I got my rebel too, just working all summer and saving for it. Now if only there was anything worth taking pictures of in North Dakota :-/

How about the Badlands? Get there in the early morning to catch the sunrise or right before sunset and I can only imagine how that must look.

I know nothing about the geography of ND so I might be talking about something that's on the other side of the state!

you know nothing about the geography of ND because there really isn't any. ;-) Unfortunately the badlands are on the complete other side of the state. The side that I'm on is flatter than an ironing board and hard to get around in without a car. Had fun this summer though getting pictures in Tokyo and Shanghai, here are some if you wanna see. *plug* http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=401349 Only a few of them are taken with the Rebel though, most are with my old Fuji 2800Z, and all the ones from Shanghai are with my older brother's camera. Lookin forward to seeing your network JC shots so I can see what a good time I was missing.
