Hah... I figured this month would be full of glider pictures. Guess I was wrong.
The funny thing is I tried really hard to find some gliders but couldn't and had to settle for submitting something else. Then of course, on the 24th (but too late to make the deadline) I not only found some gliders but went up for a ride in one. Go figure.

yeah, i was going to go looking for gliders, then i decided i couldn't be bothered, and i'd wait to see next month's theme.

What the heck is that thing, with the missing engines, in pic 2?
Its the Skyfox from the early 1980s. It was a program to modify Lockheed T-33s with removal of the original single J33 engine, and installation of two turbofan engines A-10-style. Was going to be for training and ground attack. Was cancelled when there was only one customer for it for a limited number of airframes.
