Its snowing at my house?!?!

small world...East-sider myself. Grew up around 5th + Johnson Pkwy. Went to Harding (ssshhh.) parents still live in the same house.....Yes, not flying as much as I'd like. Cloud7 is where I am at. Great Club, but debating whether or not I sell and use the $$$ for commercial hours or stay and build time time until the comm. The one problem is the only complex a/c is the C210's and I am not taking my commercial ride in that beast.

Don't know what your preferences are for a complex a/c to build hours on (and know nothing about the commercial requirements), but my local FBO has an Arrow for rent for $140/hr wet, would something like that work?
I work at 3M - used to spend a lot of time in the east side tape plant.

The req's for the complex a/c are 10 hours (I believe). An arrow or 172 RG would probably where I end up. I could rent the clubs C210 for that price, but it is a very big/fast plane and I know I wouldn't comfortable taking a checkride in it with very little time.

The tape plant...over off of 7th street? I used to hate that smell. You'd get 3m making tape and Stroh's making beer. P-U-E.....

Lived in the bay area (Oakland) for 5 years, loved it, but couldn't afford to live there. I rented someone's garage to live in while I went to grad school at Berkeley.

I used to do a bike ride starting by Embarcadero station, across the bridge and through Tiburon, catching the ferry back to town. And hiking around Mt. Tam was great.

Skycougar - enjoy the view!

Yeah, it can be pretty pricey around here. As much as I love it here, I probably won't be able to retire here. :(. My youngest son is living and going to school in Berkeley. He somehow managed to find a place to live over there, but he's sharing it with 3 other guys.

That bike ride is still a VERY popular ride. There will probably be 50 bike riders waiting to get on every ferry that departs from Tiburon today. Good to have you onboard Becky!

Holy cow!!! You are right on the water. I thought that you were up on a hill and had to pull out a planetarium telescope to watch the men in uniform:p I guess not.

Nope, this works just fine, but can be cumbersome with moving boats, binoculars work just fine, maneuver well, and are more efficient!

Oh its exciting, I have been wanting this since about March.

I get to scrape the storage wax off my skis and give a good pre season tune.

Excellent!

:nana2: I'd really love to actually live up in the NE (anywhere with a solid winter season - but specifically the NE) so that I could enjoy the winter season.

Winters here in GA are just a pain in the rear. All bark, no bite.

Don't forget to give those big Brown's a go before hitting the mountains!
Man I haven't had time to fish (for myself) for months.

The browns need to be stabbed and left for dead, way too many of them and they are not native.

Give the Cutthroats a chance!!!

I don't know about leaving them for dead, but I don't think there is a prettier fish than a colored up Cut!

The Browns need to go away one way or another, they are making it impossible for the native fish to survive and grow. The biggest Cutt I have caught out of these rivers is about 14 inches long, when they should be twice that.

The Division of Wildlife actually wants anglers to keep all the browns they catch to get rid of them.

Since unhealthy overpopulated Brown tastes gnarly a lot of guys just slay em' right there.

Unfortunately too many people have a conservatory streak in regard to a non-native parasitic species that is strangling the native species, so not near enough of them have been removed.

Completely understand where you are coming from!

What's the stance on Bull Trout?

Photos from the Cougar's Den.....or is it Lair???

Either way, all be warned there's a wild beast around those Cali hills and she takes no prisoners (or so I've been told)!

:panic::panic::panic: :p:hiya:

Aloft, how long ago did you live here, and why did you leave? :(

Sorry, missed this earlier.

I lived there from '96-'02; first year in the city (Cole Valley), the rest in Marin. Had to leave 'cuz the party was OVER and I couldn't find work! Landed a job in San Diego and spent two years there before I made the decision to start getting my ducks in a row to make a run at a flying career--including moving back to SLC for "three months" to finish up the last few credits for my undergrad degree (which had been put on hold when dot-com $$$ lured me away to the bay area). Three years and two deaths in my immediate family later and I'm still here, but finally making the flying career happen.
