Hmm, don't know if you've seen this new one from Lightspeed

Looks like Lightspeed took Bose ear cups, attached them together with a Lightspeed frame (although now made of magnesium just like Bose!), and gave it some cool new toys like Bluetooth! At $850 it's not far off the Bose price tag either.

I've got a set of Bose and a few weeks ago I did something stupid after owning them about 14 months. I tossed them on the seat and when I shut the door to my truck one of the mic jacks was snapped off by way of my carelessness. I called Bose expecting to pay $300 for a replacement part and they sent me the entire harness for free, even after I told them how I broke the jack. Spend the extra money for the Bose. Their quality can't be denied and their customer service is second to none.

I have to say, I've had similar experience with lightspeed. A friend of mine slammed her control box in an airplane door. I called them about getting parts to fix it, and they offered to have me send it back for free repair, or they would send an entire new harness by priority mail with instructions for changing it. No charge. And it was just a $250 15XLc.

I know a couple of people have bought them based on my reccomendation, so it proves that good customer service works!

That's good to hear... I broke the lil' plastic part that holds the earcup (stupid me treats this precious headset like crap), but I've been too busy flying to call'em up about it.

Throw my few cents in before I carelessly spend it. I just begrudgenly picked up the Bose. I used to have a pair I used in a corp plane I was flying but not mine, I sampled a DC enc and also a pair of lightspeeds and the biggest difference I always noticed being a person who always has to wear glasses is that the. Bose doesn't need to have a no leak seal to have the enc work. The DCs I tried and to an extent the lightspeeds always had to have a no leak seal or the enc would cut in and out.

Lightspeed has good customer service/repair as well. Over a year after I bought a refurbished set off their web site, I mailed the thing back and they put a new volume box on it and replaced the mic muff. All for about $5.00 in shipping. Pretty neat.
