Iron Eagle review

They may have been corny but to an 8-year old kid, they were inspiring. That's my fear - boys now have no heroic movie heroes to emulate (unless you have super powers). Just this guy trying to politely ask his way into girls' pants.

Totally.

Now if Michael Cera was 370 lbs and a size 26, the internet would be ablaze with "He's SO strong. He's a hero! You GO boy!" :)

That's actually why the USAF didn't allow filming for Iron Eagle. You'll notice that all of the fighters are Israeli.
Well that explains that. Something I've always wondered is where the first part of the movie is supposed to take place. Do all of these kids live in states somewhere? Are they posted overseas with the military parents?

I always got the impression that it wasn't that long of a hop to get from "home" to the generic middle east country where Doug's dad is held prisoner. If memory serves there was a brief mention of the F-16s needing to get refueled on the trip over there, but did they refuel multiple times and just fly like 12 hours one way before they could start blowing stuff up?

Maybe he should have pulled the flaps up when racing the motorcycle.

Seriously though, thanks for posting that. I haven't thought of/seen that movie in years but I think its safe to say we all wanted a gang of troublemaker friends with fully fueled light singles parked at the clubhouse ready to race and stir up trouble.

Thank you.

And how many more "Spiderman" reboots do we need?

I don't necessarily mind if it's part of a storyline, but the reason I haven't been in a theater in over two years isn't because I have a big-assed 65-inch LCD, it's because absolutely nothing piques my interest because they're just rehashing, rebooting and sequalizing everything because it's safe and profitable.

I would not be surprised if they start remaking classics like "Apocalypse Now", "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Casablanca".

All with Dax Shepard and Will Forte.

Dax is an assbag, but Will Forte is good.

As a kid I remember being confused as to how the F-16 could be clean in one clip, and then in the next be fully loaded. I think at one point I was counting explosions and wondering can it really carry that much? I mean that gun puts the A-10's to shame.

Thank you.

I enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy for what it was. ^.^ (And not just for Rocket... though yum...)

I watched 'Interstellar' in the theater, but it was a bit of a mixed bag.

I think those are the two things I've seen in an actual theater in the past three years. There may have been one or two others, but I can't recall them.

Oh, "How to Train Your Dragon" and HTTYD2. Words in the english language do not properly convey the strength of my recommendations for those two (very different) movies.

For the most part, when I meet someone new, I make them watch Lion in Winter, Das Boot, Lawrence of Arabia, Meet the Feebles, Long Kiss Goodnight, Alien, Aliens, and the first two episodes of the new BSG (which together represent one of the best science fiction movies I've seen in recent years).

If they start squirming through them, don't like most of them, play on their phones/laptops/etc... not my friend.

"You're FIRED."
