So my first prototype is out. I'm going to show it at the Chicago Luggage and Travel Show on Wed/Thur.

1. We are going to widen the placement of the straps, thicken the straps, and shorten them 2 inches.

And we are adding a great great feature I can't talk about.

My agent and I have had meetings with Best Buy and Target and a half dozen others. They are VERY interested and demand for christmas orders is estimated at 150,000 to 200,000 units. Retail price will be $59.99

The iPhone 4 will be a gel and hard case and will be out at the end of July.

Beginning July 1st, the SeatBuddy will be available at:

Bed Bath Beyond
Brookstone
Sharper Image
TaylorGifts.com
a series of smaller independent internet sites
225 Luggage stores(National Luggage Dealers Assoc stores)

Stay tuned!!!!! It's already patented so I can show you guys pictures!!


Oh----almost forgot why I'm posting. Does anyone want to give their input on design changes? I have to say this legally- Any advise you give, if used, is the sole property (in all forms) of SeatBuddy LLC. (hate to say that but you would be surprised at how the people closest to you will claim their stake in your products)

Hey I don't care about this thing, though I think it's pretty sweet, but will you let me fly your King Air around when you get it?

I won't even make fun of the whole one eyed thing :)

If you don't mind me asking, who and where do you manufacture your products? I have a few ideas of my own.
 
Mrivc, This looks alot like those pictures I sent you about 6 months ago. My lawyer will be in touch.
 
Hey man, you should consider a way to attach the straps behind the bottom of the unit so that it can prop up when the seat in front leans back...
 
That is so great that you've invented, manufactured and have launched a successful sale of a product! WTG!

I have no ideas for improvements.. I just applaud good old-fashioned American innovation and what you've done is a classic example of that. :)

Very cool. Are the straps adjustable? Seems like that might be helpful for varying seat heights/viewer heights, etc.
 
Funny. I was just using my iPad on a deadhead flight the other day and I was wishing there was some way of propping it on the seatback in front of me. Why don't you put a little clip or a small string like loop on the back that will hook onto that little clip that holds the tray table up. You know it has that little channel in it to hold something on it like a coat hanger or something. No charge for that idea :) Good luck with the product. Looks like it should do well.
