Hello all,

I’m looking to jumpseat DL MSP-AMS, offline, for the first time and am looking for some tips. Have you all been successful with DL? Still 75 minutes before? Is returning just as easy and is there a specific way you guys propose to the gate agent that we are qualified for the jumpseat? Thanks in advance!

My experience says that it all depends on the station of return. AMS is fairly good about DL policies, but have had issues in FCO, CDG and others.... If you know somebody in that network or somebody working that market, you will have the best chances...

a pro tip I was offered early was book a zed for the next day coming back. If you can’t find anyone to list you, ask them to move your zed.

also I should add I’ve never had an issue with DL, UA, or AA. Every time it’s been smooth. Even in some less traveled stations.

Come back via FRA, they were so good to me when AA wouldnt allow it period (no other airline jumpseats for international), but they seemed like they did this one a regular basis that didnt require me to go through any more Q&A than I would in the US. It will cost you $110 country exit fee, nevermind that fact that you have United there as well. BRU is a good option for United, the ticket counter ladies just allowed me to come behind the counter and book myself, but that could be b/c I am so charming as well. Getting out of the USA was the easiest jumpseat I ever did out of DTW and ATL so I got to think MSP would be cake too. Depending on the gate agent ( I have had mixed experiences, some think that econ plus the best they can get for you, when others have given me 1st class. So If you can find an American gate agent go to them first, it made a difference for me.

When I went, I had no issues getting there. V on the way back the flight I was going to take was cancelled between the time I left Amsterdam Central and got to School.

I've gone several places without being able to list prior to getting to the airport I'm departing from. All the DL and UA agents knew what to do. I couldn't list on AA due to agreements. Leaving FRA was a trip. I got bumped from one carrier and then got on the other, both in different terminals. Anyway, I go back out to the DL ticket counter, tell the agent I was bumped and she gave me a refund for the country tax. Then I took that over to the UA ticket counter, and paid for my way out. Same price. No issues.
