After weeks of studying, or maybe it was memorizing, either way, i passed the instrument written test today! What a relief!

Now it's on to study for the oral.

If any one would like to use my study materials...cough, uh, chewie, cough, let me know!

Congrats man! Very happy for you. So that King CD test prep was the primary source for...uh....memorizing the questions? What was the method you used to be this successful?

Again, congrats!

what were ur material to study?

Imma take mine on friday. I finished my 141 ground. our classes have always been real hard. EVERYONE takes that class twice (commercial too I heard, and even the private for some) and i'm the only person within few semesters (i know for this class atleast) that has taken the class once (and an accelerated version of it) and actually passed it on the 1st try. for us to get our 141 we need to score 80+ on Stage I (85 for me) Stage II (80) Stage III (89) and Final (88). So I'm kind of proud i'm the only one :) half of the class was retaking the class, and the other half failed and will need to retake it.

I started with the Jepp Instrument Question/Answer book. I'd go through that a chapter a night, highlighting questions I either missed, or guessed at. When I finished going through the questions, it was easy for me to go back through and study my "trouble areas."

I also used Sportys.com. They have it set up where you can take a practice test or study a specific area. Here's the link.

Finally, Chewie, hooked me up with his King's test prep CD. (Another way Jetcareers has helped me out. I'll remember to pay it forward.) I used that at least once a night to generate a practice test. The program also keeps track of your missed questions and shows a graph of what your weak and/or strong areas are. This really helped me to study my problem areas.

So, when all was said and done, I knew the material, but I also felt like I was taking the test out of memorization.

I think that is pretty much the norm. Just remember, really know the material or else you might get a new one ripped on your oral.

Congrads.
