So, I shot the ILS today ferrying a plane for work on the auto pilot. Here is the METAR: 02004KT 1 3/4SM -RA BR OVC004 10/09 A3015 RMK AO2
So here is my thoughts, the AP did not capture the glideslope, so I a disengage and hand fly down. On the way down I realize I have gotten horrible lazy from shooting approaches all the time with the AP. I never got more than a half dot off GS, and no more than 1/4 deflection off the localizer.....But, I noticed I seemed to be task saturated more than I knew I should have been. I know this is my fault, and when I landed I realized that this will change, from now on I will hand fly a good percentage of my appproaches to keep the skills up. It was a good lesson today, just thought I would share.....
