Join our &lsquo;ohana and be a part of an exciting team of professionals dedicated to serving our kama&lsquo;āina and introducing our islands to the world!</p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The Weight and Balance Instructor reports to the Manager of Weight and Balance & Cargo Training and is responsible for instructional delivery of courseware. Additional responsibilities include the development of weight and balance related curricula, which is inclusive of participation in the development strategy, improvement, and implementation of training-related initiatives. The position will require travel/work on weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Serve as classroom, and/or field instructor to provide initial qualification, requalification, recurrent and on-going skills training as it pertains to all aspects of the weight and balance and Load Master operation</li><li>Develop courseware and monthly computer based training updates. Delivers training using various methods, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs but not limited to, lesson plans, delivery materials, workbooks, student publications, exams, answer keys, and OJT checklists, when applicable</li><li>Responsible for ensuring training is conducted accurately while abiding by all regulatory, company, and interdepartmental policies and procedures</li><li>Maintains updates to the Airport Operations and Cargo Training Manual to reflect current process and procedures</li><li>Conduct training and job task analysis to aid in the evaluation of training methods and recommend and/or execute changes and improvements to ensure the most effective and efficient training is delivered</li><li>Responsible for training vendor partners and ensuring the quality of training adheres to HA Training & Development standards</li><li>Conduct quality control activities to ensure accuracy and adequacy of each training product, including in-process/final review, editing for compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, validation and change verification</li><li>Partner closely with Subject Matter Experts and departments responsible for authoring policies and procedures to develop and maintain accurate training curricula</li><li>Participate in the maintenance of accurate training records in accordance with regulatory requirements and Hawaiian Airlines policies and procedures</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent</li><li>2 or more years of passenger airline and or Cargo freighter operation experience, specific to Weight and Balance, Load Master, Ramp, and Freighter Cargo operations</li><li>Able to anticipate and analyze the needs of internal and external customers</li><li>Identify and design training solutions, based on results of audits and gap analyses field observations which result in improved performance</li><li>Able to work in an office <em>and</em> operational line environment while maintaining professionalism and corporate standards</li><li>Able to assimilate large amounts of information quickly, to include organizing and prioritizing, as needed</li><li>Requires strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Ability to travel to the Neighbor Islands, North America, and international locations is required</li><li>Highly detailed and efficient with a strong sense of client service orientation</li><li>Focused and collaborative team player</li><li>Able to self-manage with utmost integrity and discipline</li></ul><p><em>**Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.
