Incorporating a PTT into a Bose X?

Hi all --

Just wondering if anyone knows of a company that would re-do the cable coming from a Bose X to incorporate a PTT button. More curious as to the feasability, as I know you can just hook up a David Clark PTT (rat's nest).

Thanks!
J.

I would be more interested in hard-wiring a music/cellphone input into it. Can you just buy a replacement cable from Bose? For some reason I remember something about $70 or so.

If it's just the music part you want and don't need the cellphone interface all it takes is 10 bucks and a trip to radio shack. You'd need is a single female to two male y-splitter (ie one to plug into to jacks instead of the normal one to plug in two headsets you find everywhere) for the headset's headphone plug and a 1/4 to 1/8 inch adapter to plug one end of the adapter into your MP3 player. I've been using that setup for about two months in the saab with no problems.

Yeah, I wondered if I might find some sort of solution at Radio Shack. I don't normally use a cell phone while the engine is running, but I would kind of like to have it there if I needed/wanted it. It actually made me want to go the Telex Stratus or Lightspeed route, but when I got a deal on a set of Bose for $500, I couldn't pass it up.

if you want to spend obsurd money go to flitecell.com and for the same price that you payed for your headset you can have an audio and cell input into your Bose..rip off imo...as far as ipod i asked a similiar question and someone just said simply put in one of your ipod earbuds in one ear under youe headset cups and voila..
