In the first couple weeks of flying jumpers

I have had the following experiences:

- A Cherokee flying right over the numbers while I was on upwind. without talking.

-Gliders flying within a mile of the dropzone, even though there are miles of open space elsewhere (with better thermals).

-Class B approach being too busy to "work me" (I fly right on the edge of the airspace, and pretty much in the way of all south arrivals)

-Engine roughness causing an aborted takeoff...cause attributed to vapors...remedy discussed with mx.

-Multiple pilots who can't figure out the fuel pump.

-A bird coming within yards of my wingtip at 8,000ft

And some other things which I either can't remember or wish not to share on a public forum ;)

Gliders suck.

Congrats on the new job Slushie!

Dropping 'meat missles' should be fun. Do you get to do any jumping too?

Just wait until the real fun begins, Slushie!

My summer dropping skydivers last year was full of fun and excitement!

Gliders suck.

I've heard that if a glider ever puts down in a field, the only way that they will be able to find/get help is to find ONLY a group of pilots with a cell phone. Everyone else that possesses a cell phone will not work.

And, oh yeah, those pilots must be in the middle of shooting off rockets or detonating bombs or something in order for this to work. I swear that this is the only way that a glider pilot that puts down in a field will be able to get help. Honest!
