I\'m a Private Pilot
Wow, I passed my Private Pilot checkride today, and I feel great! My story is kind of long, but I figured this was a good place to tell it.
Including the checkride, I have 59 hours now. I took my first flight back in August of 2002, and flew about once every 2 weeks, sometimes not even that often. I completed my requirements after my long solo XC on July 4th, 2003.
I then took a 14 month hiatus from flying, and decided 2 months ago to hit this head on at a new FBO, at HWO in Hollywood, FL.
I scheduled a check ride for Nov. 8th, and when the Examiner looked at my logbook, he noticed that my old instructor didn't properly sign me off for my first solo XC (he signed me off for 3/14/03, I flew it on 4/13/04, he just reversed the numbers). Well, I couldn't go because of that error, so we re-scheduled for today. Had a 2 hour oral, and then a 1.4 hour flight over the Everglades. I even saw the resident fox sleeping under a sign on Rwy 9L, luckily he stayed there.
It feels great to have this first step finished!
