Looking for a good place in Washington DC area to rent an IFR-certified single-engine plane for 6-7 days. Any experiences/ suggestions?

I teach at the Washington International Flight Academy. We are located about 30 minutes drive from DC and we have pretty much the best rental rates around (unless you go and join a flying club and pay them monthly mebership dues)

Thread revival:

Anybody have recent experience with Washington International Flight Academy? I had an interesting experience today, but I'm unsure how far away from the normal experience that is.

My last experience with them (this past Friday evening) was fairly negative.

All I did was go in to buy a couple of charts. I stood there for quite a while at the counter waiting to be acknowledged while two instructors finished their conversation about something on the computer in front of the desk, another instructor played with a dog, looked at me, said hi and ignored me, and still another instructor sat on the couch reading. This wasn't an "oh, we didn't know you were there" scenario, either. Whatever. I'm a patient person and I understand mistakes happen, but this seemed like they kinda just wanted me to go away. I dunno. They just ignored a customer for whatever reason. It was odd.

I've heard good things about them in terms of flying, but no direct experience with that part of the business. They DID, some months ago, however, refer me to Marianne Buckley down at VKX for some tailwheel work, which is also where I discovered GT Aviation and did my IR there, so I suppose that was a retroactive silver lining.
