Anyone with any review on the ifly 700 GPS by Adventure Pilot? No weather avail for it yet, and at the moment no battery, must be plugged in.

I may invest in one. It looks like a nice piece of equipment. Great price for a chart reader. Curious to see it's battery life, and cig lighter compatibility. Some are 14v and some are 28v. There needs to be a way to use these with both.

Eit: Check the FAQ's. It's supported by both systems.

I know a guy that is basically working as a salesman for this outfit... He is JC member CN94559 or something like that... Can never remember his number, sorry Leland :)

I am very interested to see what people have the say about this unit. Looks like it has some fantastic features and a very reasonable price point.

I do some ferry work with planes that aren't GPS equipped, so this would definitely make things easier.

Yeah, looks like a pretty good concept. I'm personally one to be a little nervous about touch screens in a plane, but it seems like that's what the world is starting to go to. (Though Airbus purposely did leave touch screens out of their new plane.). Garmin even just recently came out with their touchscreen stuff too.

As TXTBOOK said, I have pretty good knowledge of the unit, as it is my neighbor that designed the whole thing and I work for him.

The need to plug in the unit really isn't that much of a hassle as it just goes straight into the cig lighter and runs off the aircraft's power. If you think you'll want an external battery, we do have those for sale.

Weather is soon to come, if we were to put, lets use XM weather, on the unit, it would drive the cost up immensely. When ADS-B becomes available, we will in cooperate that into the unit for weather.
