IAD layover

I'm overnighting in IAD on the 10th and thinking of going to the smithsonian. I have 22 hours. Any ideas? We get in at 6pm and leave at 4pm.

The Udvar-Hazy center at IAD opens around 9:30 or 10am. There is a bus that picks up outside around door 7 on the lower level. The bus costs $0.50 and takes 5-10 mins to get to the museum (free entry to the museum). Inside the museum is a McDonalds if you are going to be there through lunch.

Well, did the overnight. The museum was like being a kid in a candy store. Got tons of photos that I'll upload when I get home. On a side note I had the longest block of my career on our flight out: IAD-DFW took 5hrs 33mins. 35 min turn in DFW then another 3hrs and 34mins to LAX. Duty was 10:59 credit was 9:07. I'd say that was the most efficient day I've ever had too.

I'm sorry, I thought you worked for a "regional" airline.

Just a few of the 30 or so I took. Hangar, SR-71, Enola Gay......overall a great experience.
