Looking for a new watch. Absolutely no big aviation watches w/ flight computers etc. Something I can get wet, abuse a little (running, windsurfing) yet still has style points that I could wear w/ decent clothes etc. Needs to accomplish as many missions as possible. Maybe a tiny bit of bling but not bling bling. Links appreciated. thanks!

Best watch on earth, well, at least according to me:

Eco-Drive Titanium Navihawk.

I got mine from HME-Watch (hmewatch.com) and thought they were awesome.

You'll be happy! Doesn't need a battery, has held time +/- 2 seconds as per the atomic clock and chicks dig the titanium.

(I'm kidding, Kristie!)

one on ebay now for 199.00 plus 8 s+h

if that wont work heres the number

wish I had the cash this week as that's a nice watch

I'll second the Eco Drive/Skyhawk. Mine's stainless steel though. Get the titanium ... MUCH lighter. And titanium is much cooler to say than stainless steel.

But as a general rule of thumb; pilot watches = the bigger, uglier and more useless the better.

Yeah right " just kidding".

BTW I found the best chick magnet anywhere while I was laying over in Los Cabos last December. My wife more or less made me read "The Da Vince Code" it ended up being a good book.

But the best part was whenever I sat out by the pool reading it every chick who passed by had to stop and talk to me about it. Now for a fiftyish, tubby, gray-headed old fart like me to get even one chick to stop is pretty amazing. Usually they kind of ease over away from me as they go by.

I told my wife but she didn't believe it.

If its more than $200 on Ebay imagine how much it is new. I have a $80 and thats more than enough for me.

Swatch watches are always cool, and they come in so many designs...

and for us pilots, there affordable!

I use a Timex Ironman when I fly. I find the digital much easier to read in the airplane and also MUCH more useful. I routinely use the stopwatch and timer functions while flying IFR.

Yes I also have one of the aviation "egg" timers as well but it is nice to have more than one in the cockpit.

I bought this model Citizen Navihawk cause it has a backlight on the LCD display and I think is better looking. The tradeoff is it weighs a ton and has a battery. The titanium model doesent have the light or battery but hardly weighs anything. Bought mine from HME watch company in LA. They have outstanding customer service and the cheap prices. The titanium model sells for $345 and the two tone sells for $289. Here is their link. web page

I've got the Titanium Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk too. It's an awesome watch. Then again I don't think I'd wear it to the beach or running or whatever, there's plenty of good casio watches for that.

Definitely go with the Titanium though. It's nice and light. Maybe with my Mesa FO pay I'll get my Bvlgari yet though...

You guys know that the size of your watch is inversely proportional to the size of your you know what right?

Looking for a watch that's a little smaller. Women dig titanium but not with an E6-B on the dial.

BAN HIM!!

I don't care how cool you think you are for having a "cool" watch, but all I look for is something that's functional and comfortable considering I'll be wearing it 16+ hours a day and I need a lot of the functions that are on there (ie 3 alarms to go off for a reduced rest show).

Your "size" comments are not appreciated here. Take it to flightinfo dude.

Well, this one is bling bling. But it's a gorgeous watch.

And here is my pretty much indestructible watch. I've had it since 1991 and the only thing I've had to do to it was replace the face one time.

It cost me $350 back then. Well worth it.

Here is my Titanium Watch , it is a Skagen. I really like these watches because they are so thin. They don't stick up off of your wrist as much as most other watches. It tells time and it tells the date...and I think it looks pretty good with most anything due to its neutral colors. I prefer to keep the E6-B in the flight bag, not on my wrist. Skagen has some really nice other models as well. This is my second one in two years, I lost my first one...the girlfriend wasn't too happy about that, but this one looks better anyways.

Are you serious? Calm down. It's just a joke and an old saying. You may want to sit down before reading the next one... and guys with lifts on their trucks and really fast jet boats well you know what I mean

I specifically said "Absolutely no big aviation watches w/ flight computers etc." in my orignal post for a reason. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.
