The hurricanes have been out drinking with America West Pilots again /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buck.gif

I have lived in Florida my whole life and I have never seen a hurricane season impact florida like this.
Yesterday was a great day. Pan Am resumed operations (very limited operations, with only two airplanes) and I was one of the first flights to operate from Pan Am since 09/02/04. Today was a really crappy day, as all 3 of my flights were canceled because of hurricane Jeanne. The two planes we have are being evacuated to Alabama.
I am starting to get a little pissed off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

With the exception of the first four years of my life..... ditto here! This has been a HORRIBLE hurricane season... the kind we hear about, but never thought would happen.

well VRB's weather stating is down. At least all the sensors are inop. You read the metar, everything except the time is inop! Good luck guys! Looks like winds already gusting near 40 knots in Orlando and expected to readh 75 knot gusts by afternoon.

It's been windy but not as bad as Charley.

I estimate 60-65 mph gusts here in Orlando.

I've seen a couple baby tornadoes, more like little whirlwinds really - didn't do anything.

I've been outside a lot, didn't sleep much last night. The TV folks are all leaning over and acting like they are being blown away. Really folks, enough with the drama. The scare tactics used in the last two storms backfired last night, as I understand the evacuation rate was very low.

I would not be surprised to hear of people getting hurt in trailer parks, as they didn't leave because of the Chicken Little behavior of the local stations (or Henny Penny, depending on your lore.)

On the home front:

Our roof is leaking again, two floors upstairs are covered with buckets which require emptying every hour or so.

We are SO over hurricane season.

We doen here in the SouthEast got a lot of blown trees and winds were topping 80+ last night. The wind wasn't strong but there was a lot of wind gusts which did all the damage. I hope they cancelled school for tommorow.

apparently, it's snowing quite heavily in St. Pete (near Tampa) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin2.gif

After the storm went by a freak wind came up from the south and ripped the siding of the NORTH side of our house.

Go figure!

Well that sucks! We faired pretty good again. Leaking was worse than the two previous storms. Had to bail water about every half hour or fourty minutes. We had the metal guard around the top of our chimney ripped off. Had some plaster damage on our ceilings and window frames in the kitchen and master bedroom. Someone up there must really have something against central Florida residents.

I hear ya.

Plenty of ceiling damage. We'll be needing drywall, plaster, paint, and siding (in addition to the new roof.)

I need a good contractor in Orlando.

I've got one here in Az.. but he probably wouldn't do you any good...

Sorry to hear about all the mess's guys!! are ya ready to move yet? hahaha

My sister and her hubby are moving up to orlando next weekend (got an apt in Celebration for a year while house is being built), let's hope no more hurricane's head towards florida, she doesn't need that baby coming early!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

At the apartment complex I was staying at in Sanford, one of the inner lakes flooded and there were a couple of smaller gators chilling out by the lake on Monday. My first gator sighting in Florida! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/insane.gif

Sanford itself is not too far from being underwater with gators to boot (not pun intended). Hmm, need a smilie face under water blowing bubbles.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
