Hudson/East River corridor rule updates

Yes, very interesting. I don't understand it 100%, but I think I get it.

Now I wish I would have flown it in June in the Bonanza, we decided to relax another day instead.

It kind of cool to see the whole thought process. The rules seem pretty reasonable and simple. Its basically the same thing that existed before, just mandatory instead of recommended, and another few hundred feet of airspace to help separate. I like it.

I still haven't flown the corridor, primarily because my flight school won't let me without doing it with a CFI first (that's an expensive dual X/C), even though I've got 250+ hours and I'm a flight or two away from my commercial checkride, and I thoroughly researched the airspace and procedures, and developed custom checklists for navigating the exclusion.

That being said, the new procedures look easier and seem to take a lot of the potential gueswork out of it, so maybe I'll actually be able to do it someday. AOPA has an article about it here, and the FAA has an online training program and a kneeboard printout to help.
