If you're really old, it's possible to remember when it was just "normal" to experience cold and snow during the Winter months. There was no need for a "polar vortex" to explain it. Snowstorms didn't need names. Apart from an occasional N'oreaster, that was life the way it was.

It was a kinder, gentler, more simple reality that we used to know ... Thank you, Weather Channel.

Hey, we're getting back into "Torcon" season! Ugh.

The Weather Channel is getting dangerously close to Fox-like over sensationalism of otherwise simple things.

Not that I can really tell, as I have DirecTV...
