Here we go. I was expecting HID's+regular headlight reflectors to be a disaster for other drivers, but they're not bad at all. I haven't had anyone flash their brights at me yet either. It's probably the color that saves them. The only reason I got them was because they were CHEAP. If you knew me from highschool, you'd also understand that I can't go without having some kind of rediculous lights on my car. :D

One word, AMAZING. I will never drive anything without good headlights again. It's like that first time you wear good sunglasses. I think I might have liked the 6000k over the 8000k bulbs since I would have gotten a little more output, but I think the bluer color is a little less fatiguing on long drive at night. I fould myself a lot less tired with regular blue xenon halogens over the regular halogens, but those are too dark because of the blue filter.

WOW that looks bright! I'd have flashed my brights at you, but I haven't seen it in person so it might be the way the camera captured it. Yeah I changed my car's housings over to projectors with the clear lens, definitley better, but nothing beats HID. I can't wait to do that upgrade on my future E34 (manual).
I always thought of getting a E39, but then you won't have the fun of upgrading and swaping things out. I'd prolly settle for the 5000K.

Nice work Tom! :D I was gonna buy Audi A6 HID's (because they're an easy retrofit) and modify my Civic's headlamp assembly and just cut out a hole for the projector beam housing, but I figured I'd save that money for next year when I sell it and buy me dream car :D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they don't look THAT bright when driving up on me. I'm pretty sure it's the way the camera caught it. I was squatting down into the headlight beam on the far away shot as well. Either they're not that bright or people are just stunned when they hit them. :D

I wish they made projector lenses for my car. They'd have to be cheap for me to get them though. About all you really gain switching to projectors is that you don't annoy the other drivers as much and you have more distinct cut off points with your beam. Which may or may not be a bad thing. I do wish that the part of my beam that widens out was extended out a little farther for higher speed turns. Otherwise the distance in the center is way beyond anything I'll ever need speed wise. :D Whats the point of brights??? lol

Yeah, if you want the best output 5000 is the way to go. The output of regular halogens is 1000 for lows and 1600 for highs. My 8000k bulbs are 2650. 6000k gives you 3200 and 5000 is like 3300. I don't know why there are some car manufacturers that go beyond 8. Once you go beyond 8 and go to 10 it drops off rediculously to like 1800. There is a misnomer floating around too that the higher the color temperature, the brighter the lights. That is completely false, it is the opposite.

nice lights, but what kind of beater is the car??? :-p

i just ordered some projector replacements for my old school sealed-beams.... i figure it gets dark at 3pm here so i might as well have a slightly upgraded lighting system on the old celica....

Yeah, more like 1pm... sun rises around 11am...oh wait, it doesn't ever rise because it only hovers .00000001 degrees above the horizon in the winter.

That right there looks like a 91 Cutlass Ciera! Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm guessing it has velour interior!

i saw you yesterday and thought to myself, OMG what idiot put HID's in a Cutless.......answered

I definitly wouldn't have spent the 500 dollars those kits normally go for. I got a good deal on them and couldn't resist. Why should I drive around with ###### halogens???

Yeah, mine was only 130. Which is rediculously cheap. One bulb normally goes for 130. The whole kit normally goes for 380. The only gripe I really have is it takes about 5 seconds for them to "boot up" so to speak.
