How often is everybody flying?

Greetings Everybody!

I'm just curious how often everybody is flying these days. To start off with General Aviation Pilots. I am currently a college aviation student and starting training for the Commercial Pilot certificate. I usually try to fly at least 4 days a week depending on the weather of course. How about you guys or girls? Any other collegiate flying students working on some ratings? I can imagine most CFI's are getting some hours.Just looking for some insight.

about twice a week on my own. HOPE that picks up once I find a place to instruct... interviewing on friday at one of the local schools...

I flew 40 hours last month....most I've flown in any single month so far. I'm averaging about 1.2 hrs of flight time per day since I earned my CFI.

Yeah, my fellow CFI's are being really generous about referring students to me while I'm trying to get established. I doubt I could find a nicer bunch of guys to work with.

I am a 'student pilot', I have about 7 hours
now and I am flying 2-3 times per week with
an average of 1.4 hours per time up.

I got alot more to learn..

I hardly flew after getting the CFI... just this past week has been my first week actually instructing and I've gotten lucky, flown at least once every day this week so far; unfortunately none of those are primary students, so it may stop tomorrow.

I was averaging once a week when not working on a cert, twice a week when I was.

I think I went insane on my instructor this year... I started my instrument in december, but due to a long Germany trip I really didn't get started until mid-january.

December 2003 I had around 90 hours TT, now its April 1st 2004 I have 170TT. I think that might be ok, but I still hunger for MORE MORE MORE.

One suggestion to get more hours is to pimp yourself out to anyone needing a safety pilot or that is willing to split time. PIC for 1/2 price is the best PIC to have, IMO. Also cater to the flight students that just want to go flying. You HAVE to log the whole thing as PIC anyway, and if you split the price, thats PIC for 1/2!!!!

I'm doing about 35 a month in the King Air, and about 25 doing other odds and ends things (instructing, occasionally flying the Bonanza). Flew 64.5 hours in March...not bad considering the crappy weather!

yeah I'm kind of sick of the weather too. I got the signoff for my checkride with the remärk "jesus god might as well sign you off, with this sh*t you'll probably never be able to take the damn thing anyway"

WHEN WILL THIS STATIONARY FRONT GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE?

Working as a part time CFI in the winter only 6-10 flights a week (30-40hrs a month).

From mid May to late October flying scenic flights as well (6+hrs of flight time a day frequently and about 100 - 150hrs a month).

I try to fly at least 5 hours a week but I usually do that in one trip. I did 8 hours this past weekend and 12 hours two weekends before that. I'm looking at doing another 6, at least, this weekend.

Gotta break the 500 mark ... gotta finish this stupid@$$ commercial single add-on (gotta schedule the ride) ... gotta dance!*

*I don't know where that came from, really.

I haven't flown since November '03 and it's killing me. I was twenty-three hours into earning my private pilot, movin' right along ("You'll get yer ticket right at 40," my instructor said) but then I lost my job and, in turn, lost money for flying!

Actually, I coulda started flying again, but I'm saving up for a collegiate program. Which doesn't start for almost five months ...

In the meantime, I've been playing lots of Flight Simulator. I've got my CRJ-200 landings down to an art ...

Not that it counts for anything in the real world, but I can feel good about myself.

would be some great weather to go out and shoot approaches in...if it were late april early may. teh freezing level is still up around 4-5000. To go anywhere i would need to cross some mountain ridges.....not my idea of safe nor smart. I havnt been up for two weeks.....guess ill brave the wind on saturday and go out for some maneuver practice in the arrow

Weather definately can become a factor in everybody's flying .. go figure. I'm orginally from Northwest Indiana so the weather is kinda up and down but I do get plenty of actual time so I guess that's a good thing.

Right now I'm saving $$$ for Sun N Fun, but after that I want to fly 5-10 hours a week. After I join the local flying club, I should be saving close to $20/hr from where I am now.
