AAAAhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Okay, so I was originally scheduled for my PPL checkride Friday week before last. It got weathered. Then it was rescheduled for the following day. Weathered again. Then was rescheduled for the following day. This time I finally got to go, but unfortunatley I failed the diversion part.
After several days of waiting for the DE to get back with us, we finally got the re-check scheduled for this morning. Yesterday I get a call from my CFI saying that the DE had a family emergency and is out of town. If its not one thing its another.
Fortunately, he called me back later in the day; the DE was comming back and will be able to do the ride afterall.
The weather was beautifull so my CFI sent me solo over to the DE's home airport for the ride. Everything was going great until just after takeoff I lost comms in both radios. The good news is I got to see what its like to get to squawk 7600 in charlie airspace, and got to do it solo.
So I get back to the school and they get another plane for me. My instructor called the DE to tell him waht was going on and I'm in a hurry now because he has another appointment after mine. I taxi out the the run up area in the new plane just to discover the vacuum pump isn't working.
No more planes left for me and not enough time left to get the ride done.
I might get to go again this afternoon however and hopefully I'll have some good news to post tonight.
