How do they upgrade ?

Who use that? Me. If there's crappy wx where I'm going, I'll look at a prog chart to see what it's supposed to be like when I get there. A lot of times you can compare that with what's going on now to see if the trend is supposed to increase or decrease. The radar is like looking into the past. I don't wanna know what's going on NOW when I'm gonna be in OMA in 2 hours. As far as text stuff.....I wish I had a dime for every time the TAF was wrong.

Well there you go, I said you will remember what you use, and forget what you don't. I have not had the need to look at a prog chart. If you use them and they help you get there safely, by all means, but obviously what I use seems to work for me so we are both right. Granted, I am not an airline pilot YET, just a corporate one and no one is saying I have to fly into anything. Airline guys have to make the best with what they got. I on the other hand have about 2 or 3 people that want the best ride possible and not have to fly through any junk whatsoever so I have the pleasure of being able to get by with a radar and textual stuff.
