Hiring next year

Probably pretty good. I know Delta is looking to hire again. United probably will based off of under-staffing that I'm hearing and AA will need to replace dispatcher that won't make the move from PIT. As far as when I couldn't tell you.

I know that Southwest has also been doing a lot of hiring as of late for their international expansion and I would look for that to continue as well. Not sure what the outlook is like for Alaska, Hawaiian, or FedEx/UPS.

Sounds great.

Me needs a license and experience though. Hope that trend continues for the next 2-3 years. Which in aviation can be a long time to look down the road LOL

I think it depends on the price of oil. If it continues to stay low, then profits will be good, and they will be motivated to expand service. If oil goes back to spendy territory, plans may be put on hold.

OR we can unmerge these mega mergers and make it competitive again. Unfortunately those days are over. It's now David vs Galiath.

I just laugh when they say things like competitive and competition. Who you competing with? Who's the competition with? There are only "three" major competitors. The justification of these mergers are a laugh stalk to me they do it so there is less out there for the public flyers and then raise prices. Well duh because there is little out there to accommodate travelers.

I like it, makes nonrevving easier....more options, gates are closer together. Sure flights are more full, but there is always a way to make it work.

That doesnt make sense. If there are less airlines out there then pre 9-11 how does that make up more options?

When I was working for Envoy it was quite easy if AA was filled in DFW to hop onto US Air to always get home.

I'm just hoping it looks like a few years down the road...just getting started at a 121, and I'd like to plug away at that for a few years before I look at a major. Let's hope they are in 2-3ish years.

The reason I'm trying to stick around is really more because I was an immature young adult and jumped jobs a lot, so I don't have a lot of solid work experience (LOTS of jobs, only 3 have been over a year...well, just over a year at each to be exact). Its more for me to show that I have the dedication and I've learned from my past that I want to stay here for awhile if I can. Now, if something happens to come along, of course I'd take it, that's different.
