HIRED!!!!!

Yeay! Way to go. You'll be flying RJs in no time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, if I was getting paid $20+ an hour instructing and home every night, I might not WANT to fly RJs. Might be worth it to hold out for that better charter job down the road.

nice man congrats! but i didnt see any twin on the aircraft fleet, do they have 1?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not a one!! That was a concern, but I got over that relatively quickly....if I find myself sitting at 1200 hours and they haven't gotten a twin by then, I'll start hunting a freight-dog job!!! I'm in no hurry to the airlines....I've had nothing but fun this far so i think I'll enjoy where I'm at - I'll wish I was back here again someday!!!

That's it right there!!!

Lloyd
Congradulations man. Just remember, they are student pilots, little peole, NOT maggetts. Don't be telling them to drop and beat thier face. Man and don't be giving them any mean looks ... you'll be responsable for cleaning the airplane out. You'll do great ... enjoy.

Jim

Lloyd, remember, they are not recruits!

, they are your income. No matter how much you wan to smack them in the head, just resist the urge!

Better late than never...congrats, Lloyd! This oughta keep those pesky bill collectors off your back!

And forget what those other guys advise; your students should all call you The Punisher!

Congratulations!

I just finished my cfi rating last week and will be starting work tomorrow (just got the call yesterday). It's working dispatch for now, but hopefully I'll be flying shortly.

Feel's good to be getting paid, don't it

Oh, they've already given up on calling me....

If I didn't already say it, "Congrats!"

You're about to become an expert, even if you aren't, on all sorts of subjects so get ready to spend a lot of time reviewing between flights!

Congratulations Lloyd! The first flying job must be an awesome experience. Have fun and Enjoy being in the air just about everyday!

make sure you are up on your spin recoveries.....and if you haven't spun the airplane you are going to instruct in I would go out with another one of the CFI's who has and do a couple.

Just last week I had two students put me into them....(the spin entries at least!)

Excellent advice.

If you're not comfortable spinning, you'd better do so fast.

Students tend to sneak that inadvertent spin entry in on you when you're busy daydreaming about lunch.

Hey man congrats again on the Job. The DA40 there 342DS is not too bad of an airplane it floats like crazy on final lol the only gripe I really have about it is that it gets uncomfortable after about 1 1/2 hour flight hurts the crap out of my back. But other than that thier not too bad. Oh yeah be ready to be cold in the winter, the 40 is not too bad about cooling year around lol about froze my but off this past fall

And don't forget about the flaps! When you do spins for your CFI you are always ready and configured for them. Power is usually at idle, flaps retracted, level attitude, gradual deceleration, the whole bit...When student's put you into them you will be nose high, turning, partial or full flaps, throttle wide open. Pretty much the worst configurations possible

Oh, and by the way, congratulations. You will enjoy it....after about the first 100-200 hours anyway. Those are terrifying!

I bet! I'll be keeping an eye out for all of the killer-students!! Since I have to get checked out in all of the airplanes, I'm going to make sure that I do a few spins in each one to make sure I'm proficient at them - the learning curve in the DA-20 and DA-40 looks daunting!!

I've never flown the 40, but the 20 wasn't too bad...like a really sporty 152!!!! Those darn landings are what got me!!
crazy.gif
That thing just doesn't like to slow!!!! Anyone have the numbers for them? Time to hunt down a POH and add it to the library!!!

What's the MGTOW on those things? I don't imagine I'll be flying one with a 200 pound student and full fuel this summer....
