Hey all, new to the forums here but wanted to reach out and see if anyone has interviewed with hillsboro academy? I have an interview with them tomorrow and wanted to know some general questions they may ask. I am interviewing solely for an Mei position as I do not have the single engine add on yet. I havnt done multi stuff in quite some time and am a little nervous on what they may ask.

Thanks for any input!

I wasn't at Hillsboro Academy, but I was at another school that taught Chinese kids. They're more than likely going to interview you to see how you are as a person. If you're worried about multi questions, just review factors of Vmc and what makes the critical engine critical (PAST). Tell them you're willing to get your CFI-A/II add ons. Ask if they offer any incentive or financial support related to those. The flight school I was at paid for my CFII and offered me a cheap hourly rate for my MEI add on ($170/hr + fuel, and it was a DA42 so it sipped fuel).

Just be yourself, show them you are willing to work hard. The more flexible and available you are to teach the more likely you will be offered more students/hours. Good luck!

Thank you so much! That makes me feel much better about it. Vmc has been burned into my brain! I really appreciate the help!

I worked there for quite a while. I wouldn't be to worried about the interview. I would plan on teaching a maneuver or a system in addition to that just standard tmaat stuff.
I would strongly recommend you get your CFII ASAP. Oregon is a wonderful place to fly through the winter but it really helps to have that CFII and be instrument current for both safety and keeping that paycheck reasonable.
There are a couple different pay options and there are a couple different benefits to help you finish your ratings. I believe after 4 months you get the employee discount for aircraft rental. You will also get free use of the simulators for working on that CFII and if you are interested they offer contracts to pay for additional ratings. The contract depends on the rating you get but I think the CFII is for 9 or so months so if you get the rating right away you should have fulfilled the contract by the time you leave (depending on how many hours you need). And if you leave before your contract is up they pro rate it so either way you get a discount.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I can also give you my phone number by PM but I am commuting home tonight so I won't have a whole lot of availability.
Thanks
Seth
