Is this the headhunter type of job where the applicant pays you or the company pays you?

The companies pay us, always, no excpetion. Please people, NEVER pay for a job! If a headhunter ever asks you for money, run...

Besides saying "Aviation Director", I fail to see how this is an aviation job?

Please help.

It's pretty subjective in nature. Pretty much I'd look at it like this. Is your Corporate Recruiter at an Airline or MRO or FBO in an aviation job? Maybe...

I look at the opportnity in many ways. Here is an example of how this could be an aviation related job in my opinion. Other than the fact the new hire will also get to go to the NBAA Convention in Orlando in October with us. Major networking for us to develop new business with corporate flight departments, MROs, FBOs, and corporate aircaft manufacturers. But also, the kind of event an aspiring corporate aviator might want to be familiar with for future endevours after their recruiting career...

I look at it like this. An opportunity that is rare and you have many options with this career choice. Here is a prime example of who I would love to hire (and this is called hiring in my own shadow). A new grad with a high college loan wants to be a pilot since college set him/her back $80K. THey have the BS degree though and some ratings, maybe even a CFI. But there is no way for them to live on their own and be a CFI and pay back this loan. But here is a job where you have a chance to network with an amazing amount of aviation professionals across all kinds of companies as you recruit people for open jobs (A&Ps, Engineers, Pilots, Marketing, HR Reps, Schedulers, etc.). IIn the mean time, your first year you make $35K to $40K as you learn from me. The second year you make $60K to $80K since you stuck with it (frankly if you don't make this you won't last since you are not performing). The third year you make $95K to $115K because you are now the average recruiter working at my firm. The forth year you make $130K+ just because you are a great networker and used your referral network well. Now you have a decision to make since your debt free and saved up $50K to $100K in the bank since you were smart with your money. You can stay an Aviation Recruiter since the money is good and at least you get to talk to aviation professionals 10 hours a day. Or you can now do a life change and pursue your other dreams, like being a pilot or a flight attendant or an entry level A&P since now you have money in the bank to survive the first few years (and don't loose track of all the people you helped along the way since they'll help you down the road!). So you have enough in the bank to do anything and you are probably young enough to effectively make this change happen. And you have a proven track record where you can make a great living if anything goes wrong along the way. Use the job I can offer to get you to your life dreams, yet you'll be indirectly connected to aviation which should keep you sane for the time you dedicate to this career.

Hope that helps. But again, I do pose your question to everyone. Is it an aviation job? It's a pretty subjective area. But I can guarentee it will benefit someone who eventually wants a more direct aviation job.
