Hello! McFly!?

Does nobody else aside from Slushie and me see the 2009 part of the ad? I'll spell it out in a little more detail...

We're living in the year 2007. Some manufacturers might be selling 2008 model year aircraft, but this one is listed as *2009*. That's at least a year in to the future.

The "McFly" reference in the title of the thread comes from a character in the Back to the Future series of movies.

Anyway, I have no idea why the plane would be listed as such. It doesn't look like a typo because it mentions the year several times. If it comes with some sort of time machine built in, sign me up, I'll take one.

Cirrus wants me to purchase a 2010 aircraft they havent even finished design of yet. Same theory. They can take deposits (your money) now!

I believe if i'm correct the 2009 version of this plane has a Flux Capacitor built in unlike the earlier models 2008, 2007, 2006, etc. Hope this info helps. BTW be careful of the re-entry.

I hear they are having a hard time gettng the "Mr. Fusion" by the FAA certification. Pretty hard to get that 1.21 giga watts to power the flux capacitor out of the 28V battery. Of course you could fly through a thunderstorm instead.

For Immediate Release - May 14, 2007

Pilatus Aircraft, LTD has named Doc Brown as their new chief technology officer. "Doc Brown comes to Pilatus with a wealth of information from the future and past" says Pilatus's CEO. "Doc Brown has proven himself to be the leader in high energy technology."

What are the chances?

Interesting. The aircraft shown in link is a 1996 PC-12/45 S/N 146. Those giant wingtips give it away. Pilatus is now manufacturing the PC-12/47 which has a different, more laid down blended wingtip. Incidentally it looks like that particular aircraft now has the new wingtips: Airliners.net Photos: Untitled Pilatus PC-12/45 Also of note is the word experimental by the front door, and the odd appendage sticking out of the top of the tail. Registered to LMCO. Lockheed Martin Company?

It's funny that this company is using such an old photo to sell a pre new aircraft. That probably wouldn't work to sell a 2009 Chevy Impala using 1996 Chevy Impala images.

Sticking with single engine business turboprops, While studying for my physics final at the airport restaurant, we saw a plane that looked like Cirrus had made a beta-blaster.

Upon closer inspection, it was an Epic. But that thing looks like a case of stolen identity from cirrus and lancair.

It'd be nice to see Pilatus put a little more speed behind that big PC12.

270 KTAS? Nope. I am talking more like 330 KTAS like the TBM 850.

I wish they would turn that 1600 shp PT6 up to 1600 shp instead of having it derated it to 1200 shp. Or better yet maybe turn it into a VLJ with a couple Williams FJ-44's on the tail. Of course that would make it one of those dangerous twin engine airplanes.
