Don't misunderstand my position, I would accept the risk!!
I'm suggesting that he consider if he is willing to accept the risk for his spouse-to-be.

In other words: I'll pet the bear but I won't stick my wife's hand in between the bars!!

What about the intrinsically worthless compressed carbon on a ring?

When I find a girl that punches me in the face for buying said ring, I'll have found the right one.

This. I am a lucky guy, the girl I found wanted to elope and we had a post wedding "party" that cost $2500, and just about everyone that was there said it was the best wedding reception they've ever been to. We made enough money from gifts that it paid for half of my ATP. When I hear about people spending $50,000 on weddings, I just shake my head.

Skydiving/body bombing/meat dropping is exempt from 135.

Yes, but they're not jumping. Also, they're asking to be delivered to a wedding, so unless they depart from a wedding site, do an "aerial tour," and land at the same place again, wouldn't the operator need to have a 135 certificate?
