Helicopter for wedding arrival

Hey guys,
my BIG day is coming up next week and i was thinking about having a helicopter drop me and my best man of at the venue.
Does anyone know of anyone with a helicopter around the GSO/RDU/CLT area?

What don't you guys man up and parachute in?

Things like this are memorable for all in attendance and whomever you hire will know all the particulars as far as permits and legality.

Something to consider: Flying, like skydiving, comes with risks. There is a potential for maintenance issues that keep the helicopter grounded, or issues in the air that force a landing short of the wedding site, or issues that result in an accident. Is this something you want to risk on your wedding day? Family, guests, and a spouse-to-be all waiting for hours while you try to figure out transportation to the wedding. Or worse, waiting for a ceremony that will never happen.

Now I know everyone is going to spout that driving is more dangerous and an accident could happen anyway. True. However, in the long run there will be less long-term resentment and blame if you didn't increase the risk.

Skip the chopper rental and put the money you were gonna spend on it into a mutual fund, and retire 2 years earlier.
Don't do this! Please!

I'm telling you from experience. I was that cheap ass guy who said "no!" to some pretty cool experiences over a couple hundred bucks each. Looking back, now at 34, I would gladly go back in time and spend the money! And much more! You only live once! The amount of money spent is literally a drop in the bucket/rounding error after a decade of working! I promise!

I think it's a great idea.

OP I'm a Raleigh local. There are a couple helicopter schools here but you'd probably be better served finding one close to your wedding as the transition coats would add up.

Exactly what i am thinking...
It would about 500-1000$ extra on this wedding, feels like a grain of salt on total cost. Not going to affect my pension by much.
Wedding is outside of Burlington, so GSO and RDU would be fine.
If i don't do this i need to find an alternative solution, how much is a limo going to set me back? And what would the ∆ be between awesome heli ride and a plane limo like any other wedding.

More money is always nice to have. But more importantly, consider the expectations you're setting, here. If you're the most romantic and wonderful man in the world right now, you're going to have GO ON BEING the most romantic, wonderful, OPEN-HANDED man in the world.

Blew that long time ago... Audi S6 and don't even get me started on the ring...

Or if your wanting something more domestic...

In all fairness to the original question... Get a horse drawn carriage or some wicked ass muscle car or something if you want some flare. Having planned LZs I doubt there is an event planner on earth that knows how to set up an event like a wedding corresponding to the approach requirements of a helicopter LZ. Your fiancée is spending how much on a dress and hair and flowers (bridesmaids too)? Winds don't favor a good approach except to go straight in over top the gazebo or whatever else your using and you just trashed all of it.... Not the way to start your nuptials.

If you're going to this and look cool, you can't show up in a Robinson. I'm thinking an MD500, good rotor clearance, looks sharp, sounds sharp, and possibly affordable? If you worried about safety, maybe there is an MD520N nearby (no tail rotor).

Ok I'll shutup now after looking at prices.... I guess an R-44 isn't so bad.
