Heart Monitor - Commercial Flying

I wasn't sure which section to post this in but figured here would work.

A friend of mine has to wear a heart monitor for a month - nothing serious thankfully - just looking for source of an occasionally palpatations - it more or less looks like a pager with two wires attached to his chest.

He does have the perscription written from the doctor but should he have any problems getting by security from the TSA? Anyone ever run across this before?

Thanks for any help in advance,

A few years ago I had to travel with a bone growth stimulator attached to my leg that made a constant ticking sound. I took the prescription, the units manual, and after an almost invasive screening I was allowed to board with it. This is when that "two hours before" comes into play.
