Hearing loss

Hey Doc,

I just took a new-hire hearing test with an airline and the results were surprising. The nurse told me that I "technically passed" but, my hearing is not good for age 25. I got some high numbers (15DB) in the right ear and the left isn't much better. This is undoubtedly related to my military service and I am thinking about making a disability claim to the VA. I'm just worried about my first class medical. Would I have to report this next time I go in for a medical? Thanks, in advance.

If you get disability from the VA, it is reportable but for a military hearing disability the FAA does not do anything. Go for the $$.
