Hawker belly lands at KDEN

So THAT'S what was going on...we came in maybe 15 minutes before and watched all the trucks race out to 34L. I was hoping it wasn't a time critical issue, because they flipped the airport around a few minutes before these guys headed in, adding several minutes to their flight. We kept listening to the special tower freq the whole time and couldn't figure out what was going on. I'm glad to hear everything worked out ok!
 
Assuming they had full tanks, and knew the gear problem existed, would it have been worth it to fly to a place with lower DA to scrub off 10 knots or so at the top?
