In the past 18 hrs four (4) good friends and pilots have recommended:

Great Lakes (3)
Silver (2)
GoJets (1)
Mesa (1)

Has it really come to this? All 4 are here on JC but I'm friends will all outside of here as well.

Well it looks like they're not really good friends now are they?o_O

You would be surprised who made the comments, as well as other long term members indicating that I should consider an RJ course....

A few had more then one recommendation...hence why more then 7

If someone is recommending Great Lakes, they're not trying to help. Let me tell you about the dozens and dozens of Lakes refugees that have ended up at my airline. That place is a sinking ship by all accounts.

So I'd agree with the OP that it's a surprising recommendation.

The comment is so many on here talk so bad about these places, but when you talk to people in person this is the response I got. I trust and respect these people but it goes to show what people say on these boards are NOT what is said in personal conversations. Kinda of like how they plan to vote on stuff... I have been upfront as to what has happened to me, and I continue to come here looking for guidance, but when you see a contraction in that advice I ask to a broader audience as well... And how do you know that I am still not talking to them about these possibilities?? Yet alone applying... @jtrain609 I welcome your ideas too

You live in Cleveland right? I would consider the following (if you really want that 121 smell):
  • Any airline that has a CLE base
  • Any airline that is a one leg commute less than 1 hour away
  • Any airline that is a one leg commute less than 2 hours away
  • Any airline
In that order, with slight variations based on pay (min. guarantee) and QOL (time off). Based on what I know about your situation, I would get on property somewhere and start flying. Get a few months behind you then start re-applying elsewhere if you really want to. You need to distance yourself from what has happened and show that you're trainable, safe, and reliable.

So folks have provided you with guidance on how to move forward and instead of thanking them for their input, you've made a thread to denounce them?

Well done.

Friends don't let friends work for Great Mistakes.

That's the only one that I can definitely say the "friend" was blowing smoke.

The others, while not paying the best, represent the next best step for @ComplexHiAv8r to get some training records with good marks between him and the XJT experience.

And only if you are a very sensitive person would his post come across as a denouncement.

It reads more like frustration and ownership of the situation that his reality is one of those 4 121 operators to get his feet wet.
