Has anyone jumpseated internationally?

I just got a job with the airlines and they said I won't be able to use the flight benefits until a month from now. Christmas break is coming up and I'm thinking about jumpseating to Dubai or Doha.

Anyone jump seated with Qatar airways or Emirates before? How do I go about it?

Thanks

You'd have to check with the airline but I doubt you're allowed to. Assuming you live in the US why the hell would want to sit in a jumpseat for 12-14 hours? I can barely take in an hour in any jumpseat.

Your airline most likely does not have a Jumpseat agreement with one of those Middle East carriers.

My company has Jumpseat agreements with only a handful of foreign carriers, all of them being Canadian and one Jamaican. Even then, it only allows us to ride in a passenger seat.

My company has agreements with most US companies, but double check the agreement. Some companies, such as American, UPS, and FedEx don't allow pilots from my company to ride as a jumpseater on international flights, even in the cabin in a passenger seat.

Qatar and Emirates most likely would require you to do a ZED fare. ZED fares typically become activated after 6 months.

Lastly, riding in the actual Jumpseat on an international flight is usually not allowed except in very rare cases (such as own company).

Do they even allow it?
I'm not sure.

Probably won't be able to jump seat. You'd have to wait for your ZED eligibility.
That takes 6 months to kick in

I've been in the US for over 10 years and would like to visit the family in the middle east.

No US carrier has a jumpseat deal with any non North American carrier (with the exception of Cathay Pacific).

Any "international" jumpseat requires a seat in the back (for now) unless it's on your own company.

If you want to ride Qatar or Emirates, you'll need to use a zed fare, assuming your company even has a deal with those airlines (not all do).

Emirates guys can't even jumpseat in their own cockpits. Someone denied Timmy's kid the seat so he put the kabash on anyone sitting in it.

You can't really jumpseat on international carriers. Some Canadian carriers might be an exception. You can jumpseat international on a US carrier though, as long as there is a seat in the back for you. I would just go somewhere domestically if you are still in training, unless you have a really long break or something.
