Hair styling: a question for Airline Pilots

This may seem like a ridiculous question but I hope to go in for an interview at a regional within the next month or so, and I'd really like to pass.

I've noticed that a lot of airline professionals part their hair on the side. Personally, I comb mine forward like a lot of people my age. Do the airlines consider this "professional looking" or should I start parting my hair and using less gel?

Thanks,

Basically, as long as your hair isn't sticking up straight and pointing out in every direction possible, you should be okay.

Oh, and it should preferably be all the same color.

go with a mowhawk. show them that you not only know how to fly a plane but you also know how to rock and roll and kick some a$$ if you have to.

My hair is so fine and straight that it does not comb without 5 lbs of gel or hairspray, so I just buzzcut it so I don't have to worry about it. I hope I go bald somday. I would gladly trade scalps with a bald man who wishes he had a full head of hair, although that bald man should beware what he wishes for.

Your hair can be however you like, as long as it is professional and conservative. I wear mine the same as yours kinda, combed forward. There are lots of different hairstyles out there.

That's one thing I won't have to worry about. I have no hair.

Anyone know where I can get a good wax?

To answer your question, he wears it short now, and when decked out in uniform actually looks professional. And if I'm not mistaken, he works for a major, though I could be wrong. In fact, I wanna say British Airways ...

I do know the former lead guitarist/songwriter of Queensyrche (Maiden contemperaries, for all ye unlearned folks) is now pilot for and owns a charter gig.

i think it is Ryan Air(named after me, jk) that he works for, i think i remember seeing that on some show awhile back

i read that he flies for a british airways charter airline called Astreus. they do hops between portugual and greece. maybe that info is old. i can't imagine having bruce dickenson for a pliot. that would be awesome. RUN TO THE HILLS!!!

When it comes to hairstyle, like interview attire, eyeglasses, sunglasses, and anything else you wear while interviewing at or working for an airline, conservative and professional in appearance is the way to go. If that means you're a year behind the GQ look whenever you're on duty, that's the price we pay for working in the public eye.
