OMG OH NOEZ, the pilots aren't being x-rayed!?!?

If we were x-rayed the x-rays would see if we are nuts(most people who get into this job and stay probably are a little)

And for every TSA butt touch one terrorist is stopped

The first comment sums it up perfectly.

"This "report" does nothing but stir up panic and does NOTHING to inform the public about the Known Crew Member program. It is NOT a security risk. The crew members go through FBI background checks in order to be hired by the airline and to be approved to use Known Crew Member. Plus the program is APPROVED by the TSA, and the Department of Homeland Security. Also this "report" didn't mention the fact that crew members can be randomly chosen to go through the normal security line. Going through the regular security line, a metal detector, or full body scanner would have stopped EXACTLY NONE of the incidents or the Germanwings crash mentioned in the "report."

We have remembered the lessons of 9/11. Every passenger on board will stand up and go after anyone who is threatening to do harm to the aircraft. I would rather put my faith in passengers on board than the TSA.

I'm embarrassed to admit this is my local station...

I saw them filming the other day, wondered what it was about, now I know. Hopefully they didn't film me in the background.

"It's almost like we have forgotten the lessons of September 11th, 2001," said Schiavo. "The model became every person every time for security and because we don't know who the terrorists may be targeting, we don't know who may pose a danger."

Riiiiiight. That's because those guys on 9/11 were all active airline crew members in good standing.

Idiotic indeed. But this is exactly the stuff the media looks for to generate public interest and hence, ratings. Exactly why one bad apple such as the GermanWings FO, can ruin stuff for the rest of the bunch for a while......even longer possibly.

Erm, well, at the end of the day, you've got to trust us, or engineer all the humans out.

Not the first time an airplane has been deliberately destroyed by an airline employee, although we certainly hope it's the last.

A few years ago, I remember reading about a pilot who was on drugs and, in his flight bag, would carry around plastic bags shaped like a dildo and filled with drug-free urine. I can't find it in a google search, but does anybody know if TSA was the one who discovered this guy?

Yup. At the end of everything, it's still a crew behind the locked cockpit door. With a crash axe and possibly a pistol. So yeah, you're absolutely correct about the trust. Sad that so many will pay for the idiocy of one, possibly.

Oh man, you better be careful, you wouldn't want them learning that some pilots are allowed to carry guns too!
